Senior Electrical Engineer / PE
Are you an Electrical Engineer who is ready to have more ownership over your work—and your discipline?
We're looking for a licensed Electrical Engineer / PE to take a senior leadership role within an established architecture and engineering firm in Roanoke, Virginia.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be more than another engineer on the team.
You'll serve as the senior electrical authority, lead building electrical design, work closely with architects and other engineering disciplines, mentor junior staff, and help build the electrical department from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Design power, lighting, and data systems for building projects
- Develop electrical specifications and documentation
- Serve as the electrical engineering authority on projects
- Seal drawings
- Coordinate with architecture, structural, mechanical, and plumbing teams
- Conduct site visits
- Support construction administration, including submittals and RFIs
- Mentor junior staff
- Help develop and grow the electrical discipline
What We're Looking For
- Active Electrical PE license
- 7+ years of professional experience
- Strong building electrical design experience
- Experience with power, lighting, and data systems
- Experience sealing drawings
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to take ownership of projects and electrical scope
- Willingness to work 100% onsite in Roanoke
AutoCAD and Revit MEP experience are preferred.
Experience with institutional buildings, historic restoration, museums, theaters, performing arts, emergency power, or life-safety systems is a plus.
