French Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking an Upper School French Teacher starting in Fall 2026 at an independent school in Savannah, GA. French Teacher Responsibilities: Teach several French courses at various proficiency levels for upper school students. Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students. Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension. Teaching students about French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions. Organizing fun events where students can showcase their French language skills. Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior. Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education. French Teacher Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred. Proven written and verbal proficiency in French. At least 3 years of previous teaching experience preferred. No teaching license or credential is required. Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills. Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community. Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities. Additional Desired Qualities: Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
