Electronic Assembler

Assembly TechnicianEssential Functions:Perform assigned assembly tasksPrepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assembliesDemonstrate proficiency in performing established operations within 2-4 area processesAbility to ensure all paperwork is completed appropriatelySet up and operate assigned equipment and machineryObserve proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicalsIdentify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in processUnderstand daily demand per Master Schedule Report for the cell(s) they are working inCreate IT, Facilities work orders, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material issuesAssist in resolution of Non-Conformance reportsParticipate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvementPractice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy; Proactively identify safety concerns or issues and work with the Engineering group to implement solutionsSupport Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they ariseComplete job-related company training coursesFlexible and willing to work overtime if necessaryAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementNon-Essential Functions:Understand and/or participate with internal/external auditsPerform inventory cycle countsMay be required to repair/rework defective or returned assembliesMinimum Qualifications:Experience: 2-5 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsSkills: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills, e-mail etc. (understanding of basic software)Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness; Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high volume settingEducation/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent; Fine soldering certificate or equivalent experiencePreferred Qualifications:IPC Soldering and/or Rework/Repair CertificationExperience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration scheduleDesignated Inspection certificationAbility to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructionsWorking Conditions:Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environmentManufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPEMay be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumesStanding: 25%Sitting: 75%Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 poundsPushing (in pounds): up to 40 poundsMental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glassesWorkspace: assembly cellCrane Company. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
