Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: Required License: Active RN License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Experience with chest tubes - Experience with various drips such as diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone - Experience in caring for lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients - Experience with tracheostomies and laryngectomies - Proficiency in telemetry - Experience with complex wound care - Knowledge in central line care, maintenance, and blood draws Description: This is a nursing position in a medical/surgical specialty unit. The focus will be on managing a variety of medical patients rather than surgical cases. Patients typically present with acute or chronic illnesses such as sepsis, various infectious processes, and acute or chronic kidney issues. Additional care responsibilities include managing diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, and fluid/electrolyte imbalances. The nurse will also manage patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, and substance misuse. Care for patients with endocarditis and heart disease may be part of the duties. Support for skin and wound issues will also be required. Candidates will manage acute and chronic respiratory illnesses, including COPD, influenza, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis. On-call responsibilities may be required.
