Longboards Williamsburg is looking for a dependable, hardworking Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing ingredients, keeping prep areas organized and helping the kitchen stay ready for busy service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces and other menu ingredients according to recipes
- Reading a prep sheet
- Keep the walk-in refrigerator organized and clean
- Wash, cut, portion, label and properly store food
- Maintain clean and organized prep and storage areas
- Follow food-safety, sanitation and temperature-control procedures
- Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are running low
- Assist cooks and other kitchen team members as needed
- Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties
- Work efficiently while maintaining consistent quality
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant or food-preparation experience is preferred, but we will train the right person
- Dependable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation
- Availability on [required days/times]
