Legal & Compliance - Marketing & Distribution Compliance, VP

Role Overview Blackstone is looking for a Vice President (VP) in the Compliance team to focus on regulatory compliance issues related to marketing, investor communications, and third‑party materials. The VP will serve as the primary day‑to‑day adviser for marketing materials and other communications for one or more investment products, working closely with Blackstone’s global Legal and Compliance (L&C) team. Responsibilities Review marketing materials, due diligence responses, investor communications, and other fundraising and reporting‑related documents (e.g., quarterly letters, recordings, memoranda) from a legal, regulatory, and compliance perspective, using AI‑based regulatory review software. Manage, supervise and train staff and consultants to conduct marketing compliance reviews. Maintain relationships with designated lines of business and related products for the L&C team. Attend client meetings to discuss Blackstone products and address client questions. Serve as the primary adviser to the business on existing investors’ legal and compliance‑related requests. Develop internal policies and procedures regarding marketing and other compliance matters, and assist in maintaining broader L&C policies and procedures consistent with current regulatory guidance. Create educational materials and training for business professionals on marketing and fundraising regulations and protocols. Assess current and prospective regulatory risk through industry interaction and research. Assist with other day‑to‑day L&C matters as needed. Support the development of the team’s global regulatory compliance model by working with legal and compliance professionals in other geographic regions or Blackstone business units, and help develop cross‑functional compliance policies and procedures. Qualifications 8+ years of experience at a law firm and/or investment management firm. Prior experience in a compliance role and/or a J.D. is required. Strong understanding of the Advisers Act and FINRA regulations is strongly preferred. Knowledge of hedge funds and drawdown funds is a plus. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage team members and multiple, sometimes conflicting, business demands. Ability to translate complex compliance, legal, and business problems into commercially actionable work plans. Highly effective oral and written communication skills; confident and effective communicator. Works independently while remaining a strong team player with the ability to build relationships. Proactive time management and the ability to manage projects independently to conclusion. Substantial initiative, creativity and drive to implement a measured approach under competing demands. May be required to work outside of regular business hours as needed. Compensation & Benefits Expected annual base salary range: $165,000 – $250,000 (subject to experience, skills, and location). Additional compensation and benefits: comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, FSA), paid time off, life insurance, 401(k) plan, discretionary bonuses, and potential equity or incentive compensation at the discretion of Blackstone. For roles located outside of the US, salary bands may vary per local market comparables.
