Job Summary:

Provide direct patient care within a busy Emergency Department setting, ensuring clear communication with patients, families, medical staff, and departmental teams. Support physicians and nursing staff by implementing their directions and managing clerical responsibilities such as answering phones, relaying messages, maintaining records, and guiding visitors. Assist with patient care tasks and supply management as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Effectively communicate with charge nurses, colleagues, and physicians to coordinate patient care.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to patient needs.
• Transport specimens promptly to the laboratory.
• Order and manage supplies, contributing to cost containment through prudent ordering and conservation.
• Maintain flexibility, organization, and composure in high-pressure situations.
• Treat patients and their families with respect, dignity, and professionalism, providing clear explanations and reassurance.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Must hold Nursing Assistant Certification or EMT Certification.

Experience:

Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or EMT is required. Preference given to candidates with at least one year of experience in an Emergency Department hospital setting.

Licensure/Certifications:

Active Nursing Assistant license or EMT Certification valid in the Pacific Northwest region.
