Ultrasound Specialist – Physician Network Res Pool PRN Day Shift Job Summary The Ultrasound Specialist is responsible for the independent operation of ultrasound equipment and for performing, interpreting, and communicating diagnostic findings to providers, as well as assisting with ultrasound guidance procedures. Minimum Qualifications Completion of an accredited Ultrasound School. At least 1 year of successful experience in abdominal/pelvic ultrasound, both transabdominal and transvaginal approaches. Optional substitute experience: 6 months of similar ultrasound experience as a student in a physician practice or related medical setting may be substituted for the required 1 year. Required Certifications and Training Registered with the ARDMS. Current CPR certification. No specific training required beyond these certifications. Essential Functions Demonstrate competence in providing developmentally appropriate care for the following patient populations: Adolescents – 13 to 17 years Adults – 18 to 65 years Geriatric – over 65 years Perform all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician. Organize daily work schedule and perform related duties to ensure efficient service to patients. Assume responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients in the sonographic area. Coordinate with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided. Duties & Responsibilities Address problems of patient care as they arise and make decisions to resolve issues appropriately. Review images, input findings into the electronic health records system, and send reports to the physician for evaluation. Monitor equipment and report failures to the appropriate personnel. Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area. Determine ultrasound supply needs and forward orders to purchasing. Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
