Our engineers solve complex distributed systems challenges, influence architecture across multiple Cisco organizations, and partner closely with Product Management to deliver scalable solutions used by enterprise customers worldwide.If you're passionate about platform engineering, distributed systems, Kubernetes, performance optimization, and building software that operates at enterprise scale, you'll find exciting technical problems and significant ownership on this team.Your ImpactLead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex platform capabilities spanning multiple products and engineering teams.Drive scalable, reusable, and maintainable software designs that improve product quality, reliability, and customer experience.Partner with Product Managers, Architects, and Development teams to shape technical roadmaps and influence product direction.Own critical subsystems throughout their lifecycle—from design through production support and continuous improvement.Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, observability, CI/CD, and performance engineering.Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through coaching, design guidance, and technical leadership.Lead technical investigations, performance optimization, and root cause analysis for complex customer issues.Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend architectural improvements that enhance scalability, security, and developer productivity.Minimum QualificationsBachelors + 8 years of related experience In Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Masters + 6 years of related experience.Applied experience and proficiency in Go, and Python with a track record of delivering production-quality software.Prior experience designing distributed systems, REST APIs, microservices, and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.Applied experience with CI/CD, Git, automated testing frameworks, performance benchmarking, and observability platforms such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or ThousandEyes.Understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, Linux internals, and performance engineering.Prior experience leading technical design discussions and influencing architecture across multiple engineering teams.Demonstrated experience in mentoring and technical leadership across multiple teams.Preferred QualificationsPast experience with front end technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript and React, etc).Experience with Splunk Enterprise, Enterprise Security (ES), ITSI, or similar observability platforms.Experience building software for on-premises and air-gapped enterprise deployments.Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or CloudFormation.Experience with Kubernetes Operators, distributed storage systems, or enterprise platform software.Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Experience with contributing to open-source projects.Why Cisco?
