Job description:

• We are seeking an experienced consultant with deep expertise in Yardi and affordable housing operations to support the evaluation, planning, and phased implementation of a future-state property management and financial systems environment.
• This individual will help assess current workflows, define operational and technical requirements, evaluate modules and implementation sequencing, and provide strategic guidance around transitioning from legacy systems into a scalable, integrated platform.
• The ideal candidate combines hands-on Yardi expertise with strong knowledge of affordable housing accounting, property operations, AP/GL workflows, and systems integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation and planning efforts related to Yardi implementation
• Assess current-state systems, workflows, and operational gaps
• Conduct requirements gathering sessions with finance, accounting, operations, and leadership teams
• Advise on appropriate Yardi modules , implementation sequencing, and rollout strategy
• Help define phased implementation roadmap including:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Property Management
• Reporting and compliance workflows
• Provide guidance regarding migration from existing systems such as:
• MRI Software
• AvidXchange
• Agora
• Support vendor evaluation, implementation planning, and integration considerations
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, automation, and improved reporting
• Assist in defining data governance, reporting structures, and portfolio-level visibility
• Collaborate with implementation teams, stakeholders, and external consultants
• Provide strategic recommendations around scalable systems architecture and future integrations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct experience implementing or advising on Yardi environments
• Strong background in affordable housing, multifamily real estate, or property management operations
• Experience with:
• GL/AP workflows
• Property accounting
• Compliance reporting
• Multi-entity or multi-property environments
• Familiarity with system integrations and data migration planning
• Ability to translate operational business needs into technical requirements
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder communication skills
• Experience advising organizations through platform selection and implementation strategy

Preferred Experience

• Experience transitioning organizations from MRI Software to Yardi
• Knowledge of affordable housing funding, reporting, and compliance structures
• Experience with API integrations and reporting/dashboard tools
• Experience supporting phased ERP or property management system rollouts
• Familiarity with CRM integrations and operational reporting environments
