Interim Staff Pharmacist

A healthcare facility in West Grove, PA is seeking an Interim Staff Pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a micro-hospital setting. This contract opportunity requires a dedicated pharmacist to oversee pharmaceutical operations at a small but critical care environment.

Located within a 10-bed emergency department and 10-bed inpatient micro-hospital, the pharmacist will be the sole pharmacy professional on site, managing all aspects of pharmacy services with remote support from local leadership. This role demands strong initiative and expertise in inpatient pharmacy practice to ensure compliance, patient safety, and smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfill Pharmacist in Charge duties including pharmacy audits and regulatory compliance
• Manage medication restocking and inventory control
• Oversee pharmaceutical operations within the hospital and ED
• Provide on-call coverage with minimal likelihood of call-in
• Utilize Cerner for order entry and Omnicell automation for medication management
• Coordinate with pharmacy leadership via remote training and ongoing communication

Required Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license
• Proven inpatient pharmacy experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal technician support
• Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy regulations and standards

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shift coverage
• Contract duration from May 18 to June 30, with possibility of extension
