Sr. Java Developer
Client: Cognizant Rate: $60/hr Location: Woonsocket, RI / Richardson, TX / Princeton, NJ (Onsite)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Java Developer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting enterprise application development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Node.js, Spring Boot, and modern CI/CD practices, with a focus on building scalable, high-quality applications.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Node.js, and Spring Boot
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and web applications
- Proficiency with Spring Core and Spring MVC
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools including Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions
- Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases (MongoDB/RDBMS)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable applications
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Build and deploy application components through CI/CD pipelines
- Support end-to-end application delivery and production deployments
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex technical challenges
- Advocate and implement security best practices across the development lifecycle
