Thermoforming Prototype Technician Full Time Technical, Pontiac, MI, US Open posting, Requisition ID: 1159 Salary: $20.00 to $30.00 hourly Location: Primary - 2800 Auburn Ct, Auburn Hills, MI 48326 Shift: 1st Shift - 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday to Friday, with some weekend availability required. Pay: $20.00/hr to $30.00/hr Key Responsibilities and Duties Machine Setup & Operation: Setup tooling and fixtures, adjust machine settings (heat, pressures, timing, etc) Prototype Development: Produce, trim, and finish prototype parts according to engineering specs and internal SOPs. Quality Inspection: Verify parts meet strict dimensional and visual standards, taking corrective action on defective products. Troubleshooting: Perform routine troubleshoot issues in the forming process to ensure parts meet customer requirements. Documentation: Record any and all relevant information during prototyping process (machine settings, cooling approach, changes, etc) Tooling Development: Assist in the creation of prototype tooling within the tool shop to prepare for sampling and/or production Skills and Qualifications Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with vacuum forming or thermoforming equipment. Woodworking skills: building plug assist, cooling fixtures and finishing patterns using hand tools and power tools (table saw, bandsaw, die grinder, etc) Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret machine settings, quality standards and CAD drawings. Mechanical Aptitude: Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Physical Requirements Standing for 8-10 hour shifts.
