Crew Chief - Primoris Engineering

Primoris Engineering is seeking a Sr Crew Chief for a project in Lafayette, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of Crew Chief experience, expert-level knowledge of Trimble robotics, and a background in oil and gas surveying. The role involves leading a small crew (two–three members) on construction stakeout, topographic, boundary, title, and as‑built surveys, as well as working independently or as a one‑man crew when required. Duties and Responsibilities Lead various construction stakeout and topographic survey projects. Perform mathematical calculations for field data verification. Take accurate, clear notes in the field. Read and understand engineering drawings. Identify and mitigate basic sources of measurement error. Apply principles of monumentation, staking, and marking. Ensure quality and performance of the survey crew. Maintain all company equipment. Demonstrate self‑motivation, organization, and sound decision‑making. Accurately complete time and expense reports. Submit data and notes daily. Meet with clients and public landowners professionally as required. Adapt flexibly to changing conditions. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Ten or more years of oil & gas survey experience. Experience in solar surveying is a plus. Proficiency with GPS, total station, and electronic data collectors. Expert‑level knowledge of Trimble robotics. Experience with laser scanning and drones is a plus. Strong safety consciousness. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor. Honesty, dependability, thoroughness, and a strong work ethic. Self‑driven with minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license. TWIC card is a plus but not required.
