Senior Accountant

Job Description

Responsibilities

\n
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to accounting principles.
\n
• Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on the general ledger.
\n
• Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations.
\n
• Assist with analyzing client financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
\n
• Preparation of client payroll and payroll tax reports.
\n
• Utilizing QuickBooks software to maintain client general ledgers.
\n
• Assisting with field work on governmental, not-for-profit, and nursing home audits and Directors Exams.
\n
• Assist staff accountants on standard procedures performed on an audit.
\n
• Prepare individual and business tax returns following reporting requirements.
\n
• Conduct tax research to further the accountant’s knowledge of complex reporting issues.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting
\n
• Strong understanding of accounting theory
\n
• 3+ years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
\n
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work
\n
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
\n
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
\n
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from supervisor to accomplish objectives
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as QuickBooks
\n
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
