An industry leader in X-ray inspection, radiation and trace detection, metal detection, and optical inspection solutions, Rapiscan has over 100,000 scanning systems installed around the world to assist customs agencies, border security, aviation authorities, law enforcement, military organizations, and security professionals in combatting terrorism, smuggling, and trade fraud.Under the direction of the Sr. Trade Compliance Manager, the Trade Compliance Manager will ensure that the business undertakes import/export activities in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.ResponsibilitiesInterpret and provide guidance to the business unit on the applicability and implementation of U.S. export regulations, escalating to the Sr. Trade Compliance Manager if necessary.Draft and submit export license applications and technical assistance agreements to the U.S. Department of Commerce or U.S. Department of State following the internal application review process. Manage approved authorizations via OCR software to ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirementsReview and approve the export / import of goods, provide support in the movement of goods and seek guidance and higher-level approvals when applicableIndependently review orders and determine whether they comply with legal requirements (such as anti-boycott, sanctions, restricted parties, etc.) and whether they can be acceptedIndependently review and approve export shipment documentation and Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing to ensure it complies with US export regulationsReview product information in conjunction with internal stakeholders and determine the appropriate USML/ECCN and HTS/Schedule B code; add, edit, and maintain classification data in internal systems.Screen, review, and approve visitors to Rapiscan facilitiesDevelop and deliver training relating to U.S. export / import requirements, U.S. re-export controls and company trade compliance policiesDevelop and implement business processes, procedures, and tools to ensure compliance with U.S. Government export / import regulations and Company policiesCompile compliance metrics for presentation to managementCollaborate with US and UK Trade Compliance teams on daily trade compliance tasks as well as projectsMaintain export control records in accordance with U.S. Government regulations and Company policyMonitor export / import compliance (e.g., self-assessments). Analyze issues, identify corrective actions, and monitor progress to closureSupport investigations, external audits, internal audits, and other compliance matters as directedUphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and TeamworkDemonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and ConductIt is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the businessQualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 8 years of experience in ITAR and EAR compliance and international trade, preferably within a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environmentDemonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex ITAR/EAR regulations in a practical manner to facilitate business operationsPossess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across multi-functional departmentsStrong project management and interpersonal team-building skills under constrained deadlinesStrong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage prioritiesMust be detail orientedAbility to analyze information and make sound decisionsExperience with DECCS, SNAP-R, OCR software preferredPay may range from $130,000 to $135,000 annuallyThe pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.
