Join Univertical as an Industrial Multicraft Maintenance Mechanic

Direct Hire with Univertical LLC in Angola, Indiana — recruited by Pro Services Workforce Solutions. You’ll step onto a tight-knit maintenance team that’s stayed together for years and be hired straight into the crew, not placed as a contractor.

A day in your steel-toes

The shift begins with a quick handoff: what ran hot, what’s due for PM, and which line needs love first. A conveyor motor is showing signs of failure — you isolate, lockout/tagout, swap in a spare, align the coupling, and document the repair so production knows the status. Later, you trace a 480V three‑phase issue back to a contactor, repair the control circuit, and bring the line back safely. Between calls, you knock out PMs on the rolling mill and drawbench, then help the fab team with a quick welding and grinding job to reinforce a guard.

What you will take on

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems to minimize downtime across production and facility equipment.
• Execute preventive and reactive maintenance on mills, lathes, welding equipment, rolling mill, tumbler, furnaces, drawbench, conformer, and shear.
• Install, align, and adjust motors, pumps, conveyors, piping, and valves; replace failed motors and coordinate repair or replacement.
• Work hands-on with electrical systems up to 480V three‑phase, including panels, contactors, and low‑voltage control circuits — always with high‑voltage safety in mind.
• Support fabrication needs as they arise: welding, cutting, grinding, and basic repairs alongside dedicated fabricators.
• Communicate clearly at shift change: flag priorities, document completed work, and brief supervisors and production.
• Use sound judgment on off‑hours breakdowns to find safe, workable fixes that keep the line running.
• Follow all safety, PPE, and environmental requirements, including lockout/tagout and chemical‑handling procedures.

What you bring

• 2–4 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, or processing environments.
• Multi‑craft skill set spanning mechanical and electrical; comfortable with hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of control voltage (0–24V), 110–240V single phase, and 480V three‑phase electrical power.
• Ability to read and apply blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training is a plus.
• Personal hand tools.
• Strong communicator with a team‑first mindset and willingness to jump in wherever needed.

Work setting and physical demands

You’ll work in a clean, environmentally controlled manufacturing space with zones near furnaces and chemical processing equipment and other areas with standard mechanical grease and oil. You will stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and occasionally use ladders or scaffolds. Typical lifts are 21–50 lbs, with occasional loads up to 75 lbs. Required PPE includes FR clothing, high‑visibility gear, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toe boots.
