Assistant Project Manager - Construction

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Construction to support the successful delivery of building and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through to completion. Working closely with the Project Manager, consultants, contractors and clients, you will help coordinate project activities, monitor progress and ensure work is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.


Your responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, programming, procurement and contract administration; coordinating design information, site activities and project documentation; and attending site meetings, progress reviews and inspections. You will help track budgets, variations, risks, issues and change requests, preparing clear reports and maintaining accurate records. The role will also involve liaising with subcontractors and suppliers, reviewing schedules and technical submissions, supporting the resolution of project queries, and helping ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and regulatory requirements. You may also contribute to tender evaluations, cost reporting, handover activities and the preparation of lessons learned.


The successful candidate will have experience supporting construction or property projects, either in an assistant project management, site management, project coordination or related position. A relevant qualification in construction management, civil engineering, quantity surveying, project management or a similar discipline is desirable. You should have a sound understanding of construction processes, project controls, drawings, specifications and health and safety obligations, together with strong organisational and communication skills. The ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, identify potential problems early and maintain close attention to detail is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management or scheduling software would be advantageous.
