Practice Overview Team Size: 10 Cardiac Surgeons, 9 Physician Assistants Specialties: Adult Cardiac Surgery Adult Congenital Surgery Heart Transplant Mechanical Circulatory Support Annual Volume: 1,000-1,200 pump cases ~140 heart and lung transplants Role Summary Position: Physician Assistant - Cardiac Surgery Setting: Single location Responsibilities: Operating Room coverage Inpatient rounding Outpatient rounding Schedule Primary Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts (4/10) Shift Structure: Determined by surgeons practice needs Weekend Requirement Frequency: 1 weekend every 9 weekends Hours: Friday 5:00 PM - Monday 7:00 AM Qualifications: Bachelors degree and graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Previous experience in cardiovascular One year of Cardiac surgical experience Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
