Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0630–1830) | Onsite | Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) | Minimum of 2 holidays within the contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU setting with an average daily census of 16, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Manage and titrate a variety of drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Assess, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring equipment, with tele tech oversight also in place
• Care for a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, overdose/substance abuse, post-stent, pacemaker placement, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress cases
• Manage patients on respiratory support ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation, including troubleshooting RT equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)
• Float as needed, typically to PCU and occasionally to MedSurg, maintaining comparable patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not currently hold full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius compliance)
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; compliance is required as a condition of the contract
• Must successfully pass an open-book orientation exam with a score of 90% or higher to continue placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior ICU experience with complex adult patient populations including trauma, cardiac, and neurological cases
• Experience titrating cardiac drips, insulin drips, and sedation protocols
• Familiarity with GE cardiac monitoring systems and strip interpretation
• Experience working with patients on mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support
