Responsibilities Lead a team of 20-30 engineers supporting present and future satellite programs by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviews. Work collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills. Represent the organization in internal and external stakeholder interactions by practicing Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors while facilitating the resolution of technical issues. Oversee technical product management for program life cycles while implementing strategic initiatives for affordability and efficiency across the programs your team supports. Maintain full command over program priorities and schedules by holding your team accountable to achieve key milestones and deliver value. Support the acquisition of new business by generating Basis of Estimate inputs for proposals and evaluating your team’s ability to execute proposed scope. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience leading and/or managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams. Demonstrated experience building key relationships across organizations to achieve strategic and/or tactical goals. Active Top Secret or SCI Security Clearance prior to start. Desired Skills Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership competencies, including: communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, delivering value, building organizational talent, and being accountable. Fundamental understanding of flight hardware design, integration, and test principles. Fundamental understanding of mechanical drafting standards and techniques. Detailed knowledge of aerospace structures hardware, conversant in other mechanical systems (including flight, ground, packaging, and mechanisms), and possesses a strong background in organizational processes. Experience leading design efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities.Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers. Previous production, operations, CAM, proposal, and/or IPT lead experience. Willingness to mentor and develop junior engineers. Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly Location Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Working Hours & Schedule Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits. Schedule for this Position: 9-x-80 every other Friday off. Pay & Benefits Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $122,900 - $216,660. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. (Washington state applicants only) Non‑represented full‑time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full‑time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
