Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in OrthopedicsNemours Children's Hospital, Florida is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Orthopedics at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida.Nemours providers at Lakeland Regional Health have access to more than 13 pediatric subspecialties on site as well as remote access to all the Nemours pediatric subspecialists located in Orlando. The Nemours transport team provides critical care transport services to Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida for children requiring higher level care.This position provides care for pediatric patients, including interviews patients, obtains and records health histories, completes physical and developmental assessments, diagnoses health problems, manages the health care of those patients for which he/she has been educated, provides health care teaching and counseling, initiates referrals and maintains health records in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings.Essential Functions:Provides care to pediatric patients as guided by education, clinical expertise and Scope of Practice Agreement, including ambulatory, inpatient (acute) care, surgical first assist and pre- and post-operative managementElicits comprehensive or focused/interval health historyPerforms complete or interim physical examinations as indicated by the nature of the encounterOrders, performs, and/or interprets diagnostic or screening tests, including laboratory, radiological or other tests within the PA scope of practicePlans interventions including medications, treatments and procedures, and modifies plans based on evaluation of patient response.Initiates, monitors, alters or orders medications related to conditions or illnesses being treated within applicable divisionsRequirements:Successful completion of Accredited PA program, National Physician Assistant Certification within 90 days of employmentFlorida Licensure as a Physician Assistant (temp or permanent) required upon hire.BLS required upon hirePrior healthcare/patient care experience strongly preferredExperience working in Orthopedics preferredLakeland Regional Health Overview: Lakeland Regional Health is one of the largest independent hospitals in Florida, with 910 beds, more than 200,000 annual ER visits, 54,000 pediatric visits, and 43,000 admissions each year.
