Attendance Officer/Re Engagement Coordinator

To provide services to district schools in the investigation and counseling of students with excessive attendance problems; develop and monitor School Attendance Improvement Plans.

Truancy Elimination plans; interpret attendance policies; work as a team member to develop prevention/intervention strategies; provide case management; make referrals

Essential Functions:

• Identify students meeting the established definitions of unlawful absence, daily
• Generate Notification letters to be sent to parents
• Daily contact with parents regarding student absences via phone, email, correspondence and/or home visit
• Meet with families to develop Truancy Elimination plans
• Monitor student progress with the Truancy Elimination plan
• Determine subsequent course of action relative to Truancy Action plans: Graduation from Plan – Successful Referral to Intervention Specialist for Counseling Services Referral to Behavioral Specialist for Behavior Plan Support Referral to Juvenile Probation Referral to Administration for Alternative Education Services Referral to Juvenile Magisterial System
• Daily, weekly and monthly data to be collected via written records and cross referenced with Powerschool data for accuracy of reporting
• Prepare and provide monthly summaries on attendance services initiated, provided and terminated via service
• Review excusal documentation and refer to Administration when necessary
• Conduct annual training for building principals and clerks
• Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Business Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university

Terms of Employment:

• Twelve (12) months a year
• Salary determined by Individual Contract
