Teller (20 Hour)

Location: 10304 SE 256th Street – Kent, Washington 98030-6414 Job Summary Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our KeyBank communities. As a Teller, you provide excellent client service in‑person by welcoming both new and existing clients to the Bank and assisting them with their account transactions and servicing needs, including identifying and resolving client servicing issues. Tellers actively listen to uncover financial needs and transition clients to a Banker for deeper financial wellness conversations. Essential Functions Embodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate. Assumes responsibility for efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions in an in‑person branch setting. Proactively identify and resolve client servicing issues, escalating as needed. Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and appropriately transition the client(s) to a Banker. Assist clients in achieving their financial goals and objectives through the use of financial wellness tools. Attend and participate in in‑person morning huddles and end‑of‑day debriefs. Follow compliance, audit, and security procedures; balance cash drawer within balancing guidelines. Review and maintain knowledge of product guides, fees, and policies to stay current on offerings. Work on Saturdays as directed by management. Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change at any time with or without notice. Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, acting professionally at all times and in the best interests of clients. Education & Experience High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required). Experience in a client service role (required). Experience in cash handling (required). General understanding of PC with Windows based applications and calculator (required). Licenses & Certifications Notary License (preferred). Skills Knowledgeable about the client’s accounts and business; uses sound judgment with clients and transactions. Strong sales and service skills; presents products and services while proactively educating clients on available access channels (ATM, online, telephone banking). Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, and excellent time‑management skills. Ability to accurately and securely process cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and balancing cash drawers. Ensuring accuracy in transactions and maintaining organized records. Identify and resolve client servicing issues efficiently. Understand and follow banking regulations and security procedures. Identify financial needs and promote relevant banking products and services. Detect and prevent fraudulent activities. Collaborate effectively with teammates to ensure smooth operations. Physical Demands Prolonged standing (5‑8 hours per day). Frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects. Communication face‑to‑face and on the phone with clients. Occasional bending and lifting from floor height; frequent forward reach. Frequent lifting of 1–10 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs. Compensation & Benefits Base hourly rate in the range of $18.00 – $23.08 per hour. Incentive compensation may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
