Job Description

Prospera Executive has been instructed on a CFO search for a profitable, PE-backed specialty manufacturing business serving the utility, industrial and infrastructure end-markets.

The business has recently completed a new partnership with a mid-market private equity sponsor and is moving from founder/owner-led finance to institutional, PE-grade finance. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and act as a true strategic partner, building the finance infrastructure required to support an active buy-and-build strategy across a multi-site U.S. manufacturing footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as strategic partner to the CEO and sponsor, providing financial clarity, commercial insight and decision support.
• Professionalize and scale the finance function to support a growing, multi-site manufacturing operation.
• Build robust reporting, forecasting, budgeting and KPI infrastructure, including plant-level P&L and margin visibility.
• Partner with the PE sponsor and Board on the value creation agenda, including lender and covenant reporting.
• Lead financial diligence and support the execution and integration of bolt-on acquisitions.
• Upgrade finance systems and ERP capability to support continued scale.

Ideal Candidate

• Current or former CFO / Finance Director with mid-market, PE-backed manufacturing experience.
• Proven track record of professionalizing finance within a growing, multi-site industrial or manufacturing business.
• Commercially minded operator who can act as a genuine partner to the CEO and sponsor.
• Experience supporting M&A, diligence, structuring and post-acquisition integration, ideally within a buy-and-build strategy.
• Background in specialty/industrial manufacturing or infrastructure-adjacent markets preferred.
