This position is ineligible for employment Visa sponsorship. Overall Purpose Technical expert responsible for building data science tools/infrastructure. Essential Functions Write data infrastructure & analytics software tools for Data Science. Mentor and train interns. Guide Data Scientists on best practices in software engineering. Collaborate with analytics leadership and engineers from other parts of EW on architectural and software enhancements to the Data Science platform. Collaborate with Data Science leadership on improving ETL and cluster computing. Supporting the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data Minimum Qualifications Education and experience typically obtain through a Bachelor’s degree Typically has 2-4 years of demonstrated progressive work experience in the following areas Spark Software/data engineering in Python Machine Learning toolkits in Python/R Building reusable frameworks for data ingestion and storage in Hadoop or AWS/S3 Relational databases, optimizing/tuning queries, indexing, partitioning, etc. Experience collaborating with internal engineering & technology teams within a company on building data infrastructure in a regulated, enterprise environment; Strong communication skills Background and drug screen Preferred Qualifications Prior demonstrated experience 2-4 years Scala/Java experience Fin-tech experience The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position. The Base Pay Scale For This Position In Phoenix, AZ/ Chicago, IL in USD per year is: $97,000 - $124,000. New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $116,000 - $149,000. Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
