All staff are cross-trained to labor, mother/baby, newborn nursery, and postpartum. The unit handles approximately 30 deliveries per month. There are 4 postpartum rooms and 24 hours of orientation. Charting is conducted using specific systems. Staff are expected to work every other weekend. The unit follows staffing guidelines. All staff must possess BLS, ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications. Cancellation policy allows for one week's worth of guaranteed hours to be canceled over the 13-week period.
