About the Company

Express is hiring for an exciting company in Southwest Michigan, specializing in the pouring large concrete forms and process piping. This is a direct hire position with upward mobility. Both Foreman and Superintendent roles are available.

PAY

• Superintendent: $100k-$120k/yr
• Foreman: $32-$40/hr

WHAT YOU WILL DO (SUPERINTENDENT):

The Construction Superintendent will ensure productivity of daily operations at the job site. This includes:

• Overall management and coordination of all construction activities on a project site. Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel, subcontractors, consultants and vendors to ensure project progresses safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following/enforcing company standards and procedures.
• Review and oversee daily reporting requirements, ensuring thoroughness and quality of reports.
• Develop program to maintain good client relations involving onsite staff.
• Initiate and attend regular meetings with the client for problem resolution and planning.
• Administer progress meetings, oversee job closeout and provide owner occupancy training.

WHAT YOU WILL DO (FOREMAN):

The Concrete Foreman will ensure productivity of daily operations at the job site. This includes:

• Enforce safety protocols throughout the jobsite and for the duration of the job.
• Effectively lead and delegate tasks to the work crew.
• Make decisions on labor needs and workflow to ensure jobs meet deadlines and budgets.
• Develop positive working relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors and management team.
• Monitor contract work to verify it’s in compliance with current project documents and program standards.
• Assist in the tracking and reporting of job progress and management of updates in project management software.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar is preferred, along with 7+ years of industrial/heavy construction experience. OR 10+ years of field experience in the industrial/heavy construction sector.
• Previous experience as a foreman and capable of getting hands dirty.
• Experience w/ concrete and pouring large frames.
• Eye for details: Accuracy is critical for success in the role. Candidate must have superior organizational, communication (both written an oral) and decision-making skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to direct and supervise large teams.
• OSHA 30 Hour certification.
