DriverWork Location: 672 Crescent St. Brockton, MADivision/Department: Transportation and LogisticsReports to: Transportation Manager/QC SpecialistFull-time 40.0 hours - Non ExemptEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Move material to and from JLS at various locationsEnsure that all pickups are accomplished in the appropriate timeframe as scheduled by the Transportation ManagerEnsure that transmittal slips are properly completed and accompanying all mail types and containers in each pickupIf problems occur, alert the client and JLS Transportation Manager to help resolve. The client will either correct the problem or instruct JLS to correct the problem at the facilityMaintain the drivers log for record keeping purposes and present the log to the Transportation Manager daily or weekly as instructedOperate the assigned truck in a safe and responsible manner, obeying all rules of the roadThe driver is also responsible for daily inspection of the assigned vehicles for safety purposes; all defects must be reported immediately to the Transportation Manager or supervisor on dutyThe driver also must maintain a neat and clean vehicle, including the weekly washing of the vehicleThe driver must position blocks, ties, and ropes to secure cargo at all timesContinuously develop knowledge and skills as needed as the business changesPerform other duties as required by the Transportation Manager from time to timeEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:High school diploma required or equivalent related work experienceMust have a valid Massachusetts driver's licenseMust maintain a good driving recordMust be able to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, electric trucks and forkliftsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customersComputer proficiency preferred for the use of tablets, order management software and emailMust have the ability to do simple mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy of countsMust conduct themselves in a business-like manner at all times as they represent JLS to our customersMust be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service to employees and customersAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practicesPhysical Requirements:Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standardsAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, and other federal, state and local standardsMust be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbsMust be able to communicate clearly on telephone and in person
