Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their Contact Center team in Kankakee, Illinois. This onsite, temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Customer Service Representative will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, handling account inquiries, billing questions, service requests, and problem resolution while providing a positive and professional customer experience.
Essential Duties
- Answer inbound customer calls regarding billing, payments, account maintenance, and service inquiries.
- Assist customers with move-in, move-out, and account transfer requests.
- Respond to inquiries regarding utility services, outages, and emergency situations.
- Research customer concerns and provide accurate and timely resolutions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions.
- Navigate multiple computer applications while handling customer inquiries efficiently.
- Escalate complex customer issues when appropriate.
- Meet established quality, productivity, and customer service standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and strong communication skills during all customer interactions.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and management to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years of customer service, call center, banking, retail, healthcare, or related experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.

Salary Range: SolomonEdwards values your unique and individual experience and background. As such, we take a comprehensive approach when determining compensation for our roles. The compensation for this specific role is based on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to education, licensure and certifications, location, experience, and training. A reasonable estimate for the current hourly range for this role is $40 – 50.
