Safety Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to support outage, turnaround, and maintenance projects within power generation facilities. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety requirements, and site-specific procedures while actively promoting a strong safety culture among employees and contractors

Responsibilities

Provide onsite safety oversight for power plant outages, turnarounds, and capital projects

Conduct daily safety inspections, audits, and field observations

Lead pre-job briefings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, site safety procedures, and client requirements

Monitor high-risk work activities including:

Rigging and crane operations

Welding, cutting, and hot work

Confined space entry

Fall protection

Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

Excavation and trenching

Hexavalent Chromium (Hex Chrome) exposure controls

Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking

Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and work packages

Partner with site management, contractors, and craft personnel to proactively identify and mitigate risk

Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of construction, industrial, or power generation safety experience

Experience supporting powerhouse units, power plants, outages, or turnaround projects

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices

Experience overseeing welding, piping, mechanical, and rigging operations

Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and outage schedules as required

Strong communication and leadership skills

OSHA 30 CHST, CSP, OHST, or equivalent safety certification

First Aid/CPR Certification

Experience working in coal, natural gas, nuclear, combined-cycle, or other power generation environments

Experience with contractor management and multi-employer job sites

Knowledge of industrial hygiene requirements, including Hex Chrome monitoring and controls
