J. Allen Ford

New Orleans, LA

Job Description

Job Description

J. Allen Ford - Service Technician

We run an honest shop, and we’re looking for honest, hard-working technicians to join the  J. Allen Automotive  family. To be a success here, you need two things: solid skills and solid ethics. We understand that top-tier technicians are the backbone of our dealership, and we treat them as such—offering competitive pay, a positive culture, and clear paths for professional advancement.

If you love the challenge of diagnosing complex issues and take pride in high-quality repairs, you’ll fit right in with our team of experts.

The Role: Precision & Performance

As a Service Technician, you are responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our customers' vehicles. You’ll work in a collaborative environment where quality and integrity come first.

What You’ll Do:

  • Diagnostics & Repair: Thoroughly examine vehicles to identify issues and perform precise repairs.

  • Collaboration: Partner with the Shop Foreman and Service Advisors to plan work and provide accurate labor estimates.

  • Clear Communication: Keep the service team informed on repair progress and any additional maintenance needs discovered.

  • Technical Mastery: Stay current with factory technical bulletins and attend company-provided training to keep your skills sharp.

  • Mentorship: Share your expertise by assisting in the development of technician trainees.

  • Compliance & Care: Adhere to all dealership policies regarding vehicle care and follow all environmental and safety regulations for hazardous waste disposal.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Technical Proficiency: A strong understanding of automotive systems and the ability to document repairs accurately.

  • Certifications: Must have a valid Driver’s License and a State Inspection License.

  • Strong Ethics: A commitment to honesty and a positive, "can-do" attitude.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of specialized training and experience.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a high-performance culture with compensation based on your experience that is competitive with Fortune 500 standards. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Health & Wellness: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, plus Accident and Critical Illness coverage.

  • Financial Security: 401(k) Retirement Plan and Life Insurance (Basic and Additional).

  • Work-Life Balance: Paid Time Off (PTO) to help you recharge.

  • Growth: Paid Training and factory-certified learning opportunities to help you reach the next level in your career.

About J. Allen Automotive

At J. Allen Automotive, we look for talented individuals who want to escape the "ordinary" routine. We provide a rewarding, challenging environment where outstanding service and a dedication to excellence are always recognized.
