OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER - RN

Direct care of team members and lead the Complex Occupational Health Department, providing professional expertise, administrative leadership, and direct nursing care. General Summary As an RN licensed to practice in the state of employment, you manage Occupational Health activities, supervise staff, and provide direct care to employees in accordance with medical directives, policies, procedures, and the State Nurse Practice Act. You direct, administer, supervise, and evaluate the site Occupational Health service department with professional and administrative leadership. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop and maintain an efficient occupational health care process adapted to the facility’s size and nature of work activities. Manage Occupational Health staff and ensure standardized application of policy and quality of nursing care, adherence to health management protocols, medical directives, policies, procedures, and physician standing orders. Ensure documentation of care meets legal requirements, HIPAA, and confidentiality standards, and maintain a record‑keeping system that protects employee privacy. Comply with all state and federal regulations, including OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, and maintain the OSHA log. Use cost‑containment measures in departmental activities and conduct functions within the scope of quality of care. Provide compassionate, quality care to employees: assessment, first aid, follow‑up care, rehabilitation services, and case management. Also provide first aid, minor treatment, counseling, referral, and medical liaison for non‑occupational health concerns. Coordinate all Workers’ Compensation management, including reporting cases that require outside medical care to the third‑party administrator and initiating internal case management. Deliver direct care for employees at the site under medical directives, within the scope of practice and State Nurse Practice Act regulations. Conduct tasks professionally and within legal, ethical, and moral standards of care. Schedule health assessments and evaluations for return‑to‑work, fitness for duty, and medical surveillance following health management and safety protocols. Perform drug and alcohol tests in accordance with the company drug and alcohol program, ensuring departmental compliance. Other duties as assigned. May require availability outside normal business hours and travel. Education High School diploma or GED. Graduate from an Associate Degree of Nursing for RN or Diploma of Nursing for RN. Experience Typically requires 1 year of experience for RN preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registration Current RN license in the state of employment. Certification in urine drug screen and breath alcohol collections. Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
