Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for neonates in a Level II NICU, including infants around 32 weeks gestation and later, with stabilization and transport as needed.
- Monitor respiratory status and support, including CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula; perform short-term intubation when necessary.
- Initiate and maintain vascular access (IV starts, EPIVs, UAC/UVC) and manage nutrition support (gavage feeding, PPN/lipids) and phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia.
- Administer prescribed medications, perform sepsis workups as indicated, and collaborate on patient care plans with the interdisciplinary team.
- Document care in the electronic medical record, participate in rounds, and provide family teaching and discharge planning support.
- Floating expectations: may float to postpartum for stable mother-baby pairs (1-2 shifts with orientation) or to pediatrics for bili babies; float is not for sick/respiratory patients. Pre-start orientation is provided.

Requirements
- Licensure: Pending state license accepted (quick starts preferred)
- Certifications: BLS and NRP required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years NICU experience; travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Other: Two references covering the past year within the last three years required; pre-start modules completed prior to start; RTO requests must be included with submittal
- Residency: Local residents within 50 miles of the assignment are not eligible for this travel contract
