Dental Assistant -X-Ray Certified BILINGUAL

Job Description Job Description Elaine Ellis Center of Health has an immediate opening for DC and Maryland registered Dental Assistant with x-ray certification.Qualified candidates must be able fluent in Spanish and English; have reliable transportation and be flexible in work hours. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Adheres to approved practice standards and protocols from the DC Board of Dentistry and Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners · Meets all requirements to legally operate dental x-ray equipment and perform dental radiographic procedures in DC and Maryland. · Schedules and confirms patient's appointments; insurance verification. · Prepares treatment area for patients following prescribed procedures and protocols. · Welcomes, comforts, seats and drapes the dental patient. · Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area, positioning the instrument for ease of access; passing instruments. · Obtains and develops radiographic studies. · Fabricates temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions. · Collects and records medical and dental histories and patient vital signs. · Maintains infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials and assisting in dental procedures. · Educates patients on dental hygiene, oral health and plaque control programs. · Provides postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist. · Maintains inventory of patient care supplies and medications. · Ensures dental equipment is functioning properly and is well maintained. · Maintains and checks emergency equipment per policy. · Schedules and registers dental patients. · Posts charges and verify insurance for dental patients. · Perform front desk duties as needed. · Actively participates in team training for patient centered care coordination. · Participates in outreach and offsite programs as assigned. · Performs other duties and assist with special projects as assigned.
