Join a team where innovation is encouraged, collaboration is valued, and your work helps build a more sustainable future.We are looking for a Wastewater Engineer in our Houston, TX office.We are seeking an experienced Wastewater Engineer (PE) to support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal wastewater infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with wastewater treatment plant design, pump stations, lift stations, and collection systems, and will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and municipal clients.The Impact You’ll Make (Job Responsibilities)Lead the design and delivery of wastewater infrastructure projects.Prepare engineering studies, design calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.Design and rehabilitate wastewater treatment facilities and processes.Design pump stations, lift stations, force mains, and related conveyance systems.Perform hydraulic analyses and evaluate system performance.Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines.Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and construction-phase services.Manage project tasks, schedules, budgets, and client communications.Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.The Expertise You’ll Bring (Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline8+ years of overall experience in wastewater engineering, preferably supporting municipal clients and infrastructure projects.Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.Experience with:Wastewater treatment plant planning, design, and rehabilitationPump station and lift station designCollection, conveyance, and force main systemsHydraulic analysis and system evaluationsPreparation of engineering reports, plans, specifications, and construction documentsExperience leading project tasks, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and working directly with clients.Familiarity with hydraulic modeling, design software, and industry engineering standards.Experience supporting permitting, regulatory compliance, and construction-phase services.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Why You'll Thrive at EgisAt Egis, you'll do more than build your career—you'll help shape the future of infrastructure.
