Job Summary

The Brand Ambassador / Selling Event Specialist represents Sun State Provisions and the Boar’s Head Brand through high‑energy, engaging, and creative in‑store demonstrations at Publix locations. This role focuses on elevating the customer experience by preparing and sampling premium recipes, showcasing product knowledge, and driving sales through authentic, enthusiastic interaction. The ideal candidate is outgoing, passionate about food, and skilled in delivering memorable customer experiences that strengthen brand loyalty.

Customer Engagement & Brand Representation

• Serve as the face of Sun State Provisions during in‑store demos, embodying professionalism, warmth, and brand enthusiasm.
• Engage customers with a friendly, confident, and approachable demeanor, creating a welcoming environment around the demo station.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service by answering product questions, offering pairing suggestions, and sharing brand stories.
• Build rapport with Publix associates and managers to support collaboration and seamless event execution.
• Represent the Boar’s Head Brand with premium standards in appearance, communication, and product presentation.

Recipe Creation & Demonstration

• Develop creative, appealing recipes using Boar’s Head products that highlight flavor, versatility, and quality.
• Prepare and present recipes safely and efficiently during live demos, ensuring visual appeal and consistent quality.
• Adapt recipes based on store inventory, seasonal promotions, and customer preferences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually attractive demo station at all times.

Selling Events & Promotional Support

• Execute scheduled selling events, including setup, sampling, customer interaction, and teardown.
• Drive sales by promoting featured items, seasonal products, and Flavor of the Day offerings.
• Track event performance including units sold, customer feedback, and engagement levels.
• Collaborate with store leadership to identify optimal demo locations and timing for maximum impact.

Merchandising & POP Support

• Ensure demo displays, signage, and POP materials are clean, accurate, and aligned with brand standards.
• Communicate product needs or merchandising opportunities to Account Managers and store teams.
• Support visual merchandising by maintaining appealing product presentation around the demo area.

Food Safety & Operational Compliance

• Follow all Publix and Sun State Provisions food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
• Maintain compliance with safety, health, and sanitation standards during all food preparation and sampling activities.
• Ensure all equipment used for demos is operated safely and cleaned properly after each event.

Communication & Reporting

• Document demo activities, customer interactions, and sales results using GoSpot Check and Slack.
• Provide feedback to leadership regarding customer trends, recipe performance, and opportunities for future events.
• Attend company meetings to align on promotions, product launches, and brand initiatives.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual must own a smart phone and hands‑free headset (Bluetooth). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak confidently and effectively with customers, store employees, and small groups.

Math Ability

Ability to calculate basic measurements, proportions, and quantities needed for recipe preparation.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems, adapt to changing store environments, and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Education/Experience

High school diploma required. Preferred: Experience in food service, culinary arts, hospitality, or customer‑facing roles.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, use hands, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Must be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
