Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Critical Care/ICU position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and prior ICU experience with high-acuity patients.

Details

• Work in the ICU MedSurgical A unit of a hospital setting
• Care for high-acuity ICU patients, including those who are intubated, sedated, and requiring chest tube management and continuous critical care monitoring
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment on a full-time basis

Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas or compact
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• 1 year of experience in critical care nursing preferred
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Delegate and make appropriate assignments to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations
• Temp-to-perm opportunity may be available if department openings exist at the end of the contract
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate, unless the position specifically states local candidates are accepted
• Previous CHRISTUS Health employees (non-travel) must have been separated from the system for at least 6 months prior to starting a travel assignment
