Technical Product Manager

Senior Product ManagerThis position is for an individual contributor reporting to the Principal Product Manager. The core responsibilities include working closely with engineering and data science teams, driving the roadmap, and managing large data sets.Candidate requirements include 5-8 years of experience preferred, with a strong technical background required. Experience in data science, machine learning, or data platforms is a plus. Startup experience is preferred, and candidates should avoid big tech backgrounds.Technical skills required include experience with AWS, Golang, Python, Postgres, OpenSearch, and Redshift. Understanding of data pipelines and internal tooling PM experience is also necessary.The product function reports directly to the CEO, and the team is deeply cross-functional, involving engineering and data science.The salary range is $180k to $230k, with slight flexibility. This is a remote position for U.S.-based candidates with no time zone preference.The company is struggling to find non-traditional product managers with diverse backgrounds and needs candidates who are deeply technical and cross-functional.The ideal candidate profile includes a strong technical background, a startup mindset, and a collaborative nature. Founder experience or an entrepreneurial mindset is a plus.The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a PM, founder, or equivalent cross-functional product role, judged on executive presence and ownership, not just years. They must already be both a real engineer-type and an experienced PM, with a prior engineering title required (SWE, DS, ML eng, or highly technical data analyst). The resume must show both big data product work and internal tooling experience with specific projects named.At least 1 year at a Series B/C startup is required, with the current or most recent role at a startup, not big tech. Data pipeline experience is required, with production-level work involving data ingestion, cleaning/normalization, and modeling with specific tools cited. Python and AWS familiarity are required, and big data tooling (Spark, Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift) must be explicitly named on the resume. Fintech/payments/fraud/identity domain is a differentiator. Otherwise, the more technical the better (cybersecurity, fintech, AI, heavy-API/data). The candidate must be located and authorized to work in the United States and genuinely want an internal-facing role, not customer-facing. Candidates have withdrawn upon learning it's an internal role.Traits to avoid include only customer-facing experience and no interest in internal work (external is fine if they want internal), big tech or large-enterprise/bank-only experience, traditional PM career path with no engineering or technical roots (APM ? PM ? Sr. PM), and AI/ML buzzword-heavy profiles with no clear applicability to data platform or internal tooling work.
