Work Environment
This role offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to connect with clients from the comfort of your home while still engaging with the local community. You will be working closely with educational institutions to address the mental health needs of students, making your schedule dynamic and fulfilling. While the primary work hours will align with standard business hours, be prepared for occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate client needs and program activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of students to determine their social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, using evidence-based techniques.
- Develop tailored service plans that set clear goals, define interventions, and outline methods for progress monitoring.
- Provide individual and family counseling to help clients navigate and overcome personal difficulties such as anxiety, trauma, and home life challenges.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and external agencies to build a supportive network around each student, integrating resources effectively.
- Deliver crisis intervention services by evaluating risks and formulating safety plans during urgent situations.
- Engage actively in community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting awareness of mental health issues and agency services.
- Participate in regular case conferences and team meetings to discuss client progress and refine service delivery strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position primarily focuses on students within the school system who may be dealing with various mental health challenges. By providing counseling and support, you will address issues such as bullying, mental health crises, family-related stressors, and trauma. Your work will have a direct and positive impact on the emotional and psychological well-being of young individuals, ultimately contributing to healthier learning environments.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is required.
- You must possess an active state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Demonstrated understanding of social and economic justice issues and the resources available within the community.
- Excellent communication skills, cultural competence, and the ability to apply trauma-informed care practices in client interactions.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working in social service settings, particularly in schools or similar environments, is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with case management software and electronic health record systems used to track client progress and interventions.
- Experience in crisis intervention and the ability to develop effective safety plans for at-risk populations.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $100,000, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
