Senior Manager - IFRS Professional Practice

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join the IFRS Professional Practice in our Johannesburg office. The EY IFRS Financial Reporting Group (FRG) is one of the most trusted and respected teams that assists clients in addressing the accounting and financial reporting challenges facing their business. The Opportunity As a Senior Manager, you will work within a team of IFRS specialists to provide responsive accounting and financial reporting support to our audit teams, our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) teams and other service lines within EY. Your Key Responsibilities Participate in technical accounting consultations and provide technical support to audit teams. Perform pre-issuance technical reviews on listed entity financial statements. Support the technical learning and development of the audit practice through the preparation and delivery of technical updates, publications, and training materials. Actively participate in accounting standard subject matter group(s). Build strong relationships both internally and externally, including building your profile with professional bodies and organisations. Engage directly with EY clients in the provision of technical accounting services. Support the EY brand in the marketplace through providing exceptional client service. Develop our people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff. Play an active operational role within the team. Qualifications CA (SA) and a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience. Thorough knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards. Experience in analysing complex accounting issues and providing solutions in accordance with the relevant accounting standards and legislation. Preferred Qualities Excellent communication skills and confidence to communicate your view. Ability to succinctly present on a technical topic and articulate the issue and impact for our clients. Ability to be flexible when required and to work collaboratively within the team to meet deadlines.
