Field Service Technician/Electrical - Meridian, MS

Field Service Technician – Vertiv At Vertiv we design, manufacture, and service mission‑critical infrastructure technologies for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial environments. This role delivers scheduled and remedial service on small to medium UPS, power distribution units and battery system products (2‑120 KVA) across the “Edge” market segment, providing excellent customer rapport and support. Responsibilities Perform service tasks according to company policies and procedures. Work under direct supervision or independently upon completion of training. Provide on‑site and phone assistance to customers. Communicate with technical support on technical or procedural issues. Implement field change notices per published guidelines. Keep current on safety bulletins and field change notices. Operate safely, maintain and operate company vehicle, wear appropriate PPE, and adhere to work‑hours and safety guidelines. Complete accurate administrative tasks (time cards, expense reports, mileage reports, service reports). Maintain inventory, perform cycle counts, and protect company property. Provide clear communication to internal and external customers, including ETA and completion documentation. Strive for first‑time fix, maintain customer satisfaction rates. Maximize productivity by combining service opportunities, manage time, and evaluate billing status. Meet or exceed on‑site response time requirements. Follow startup and escalation processes and procedures. Qualifications High School or Vocational School Diploma. 2–4 years military experience in a related technical field (preferred). 0–2 years relevant industry experience. Preferred: ASEET or AMEET certification or progress toward it. Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to prioritize technical and administrative tasks. Basic site evaluation skills, familiarity with electrical/electronic test equipment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Vertiv software. Valid driver’s license; travel required. Flexible schedule, weekends, evenings, holidays. Must pass drug test and background checks. Working Conditions Travel, flexible hours, valid driver’s license required.
