We'd love for you to join our team!Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior-level Lead Data Architect to design, develop, deploy, and manage the data architectures, data strategies, and data governance frameworks for the U.S. Census Bureau's Decennial Transformation and Application Modernization (DTAM) effort. This role possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments, plans and leads major data architecture assignments, and functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. The Lead Data Architect translates business needs into long-term data architecture solutions and builds platforms that handle data at varying volumes, varieties, and velocities. May supervise others.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, deploy, and manage data architectures, data strategies, and data governance frameworks for systems, applications, and databasesBuild, integrate, and maintain data platforms including data lakes, lake houses, warehouses, marts, hubs, and knowledge graphsPlan, design, develop, implement, and maintain appropriate data structures for operational, graph, transactional, and spatial dataTranslate business needs into long-term data architecture solutions and evaluate reusability of current data for additional analysesDefine and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling concepts, techniques, and toolsDevelop strategies for data acquisition, archive, and recovery, and incorporate metadata management to optimize access, performance, and costEnhance and maintain data dictionaries, catalogs, and repositories aligned with enterprise data standardsSupport data engineering and integration, including data pipelines, integration patterns, and Interface Control DocumentsSupport data quality, data lineage, and data governance activities across service providersValidate the design of all SoS interfaces in accordance with data dictionaries and data lineage work productsCollaborate with architects, engineers, and application teams to identify, evaluate, and manage data storage solutionsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field10–14 years of experience, possessing and applying comprehensive knowledge across key data architecture tasks and high-impact assignments (Senior level)Required SkillsExpert experience designing and managing enterprise data architectures and governance frameworksDemonstrated ability to build data lakes, warehouses, marts, hubs, and knowledge graphs at scaleStrong conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling skillsExperience with data engineering, data pipelines, and data integration patternsBackground in data quality, data lineage, metadata management, and data governanceCertificationsDesired:Big Data certification from AWS / Google / AzureCloud Database certificationData Analytics certificationDesired SkillsExperience with large-scale federal statistical or survey data programsFamiliarity with near-real-time data processing and high-volume/velocity data solutionsExperience with cloud-based data platforms and storage optimizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive briefing to senior Government stakeholdersSecurity ClearanceU.S. Citizenship requiredMore About B&ANotable Clients B&A has grown to be a company that is trusted by our clients for exceptional service, innovative solutions, and inspired employees.
