Senior Medical Lab Technician Or Medical Technologist – HematologyWork Schedule: Full-time, 100% FTE Monday -Friday, varying start times between 7:00AM and 8:30AM for an 8.5-hour shift, rotating weeknight/weekend/holiday call requirements. This position is at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.Pay: The pay range listed reflects both titles. This position may be eligible for up to an $8,000 sign-on bonus. Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care, performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients and their health needs.We are seeking a Senior Medical Lab Technician OR Medical Technologist – Hematology. This position will support both Core Hematology and specialty services within Integrated Hematology. We are especially interested in applicants with experience performing manual differentials, cell morphology review, and advanced hematology testing, as the successful candidate will help support our Bone Marrow Laboratory.Performs testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity).Skills to operate calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot analyzers and other lab equipment.Responsibilities may include participation in bone marrow collection procedures, advanced differential interpretation, and collaboration with providers caring for patients with complex hematologic disorders.The Core Hematology laboratory performs complete blood counts, automated and manual differential counts, coagulation testing, urinalysis, body fluid analysis, and a variety of specialty testing services.At UW Health, you will have: An excellent benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, two-week paid parental leave and adoption assistance. OR education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR 24 semester hours of science courses Preferred – Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
