How you show up — your reliability, your professionalism, your attention to detail — directly shapes how customers experience us. This role protects our reputation, supports our warehouse team, and keeps operations moving.Work Shift and Hours:Monday - Friday, 4:00am - 12:00pmCompensation Details:The expected pay rate for this position is starting between $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.How This Role Connects to Our CompassWe Keep Our Promises: Every route you complete is a promise kept. You pitch in with warehouse work without being directed, and you look for what needs to happen next before anyone has to ask.Key Outcomes - Organized by what matters, not just what you do.Safe, On-Time DeliveryTransport materials on local routes using box and flatbed trucks (manual and automatic transmissions)Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently at each stopHandle materials with care to prevent damage in transitComplete routes accurately and on time — no customer left wonderingDOT Compliance & StandardsMaintain a valid DOT certification and current Medical Certification cards at all timesOperate all vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and Shepherd safety policiesFollow proper lifting techniques and physical handling standardsComplete all required documentation accurately and on timeWarehouse SupportFulfill warehouse duties as needed: pallet wrapping, picking, and packing customer ordersSupport second-shift operations when requiredContribute to warehouse flow and team coverage without being askedCommunication & ProfessionalismRepresent Shepherd professionally at every customer touchpointCommunicate proactively with dispatch and warehouse leadership on route status or issuesFlag problems early — do not let a small issue become a missed deliveryTreat every interaction with customers and teammates with respect and careWhat Success Looks Like - After 90 days, you and your Supervisor should both be able to point to these markers:Routes are completed on time with no recurring delivery errors or customer complaintsDOT compliance and vehicle documentation are always current and accurateMaterials are handled safely — damage incidents are rare and addressed promptly when they occurWarehouse team trusts that you pitch in without being directedCustomers and teammates describe you as reliable, professional, and easy to work withWho Thrives Here - This role is a strong fit if:You take pride in showing up on time, every time — for your team and your customersYou handle pressure calmly and do not cut corners when routes get busyYou treat every customer stop like it matters — because it doesYou communicate clearly and flag problems early instead of hoping they resolve themselvesYou support your warehouse teammates without being askedYou hold yourself to DOT and safety standards not because you have to, but because that is the standardYou want to be part of something growing — and you bring the consistency that makes growth possibleQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCurrent DOT certification and Medical Certification cards requiredMinimum 3 years of driving experience with a clean motor vehicle recordAbility to drive box and flatbed trucks with manual and automatic transmissionsKnowledge of air brake systemsAbility to lift up to 80 lbs. using proper techniqueForklift certification preferredFlexibility for second-shift work as neededStrong verbal communication skills; ability to represent Shepherd professionally at every stopFamiliarity with Sterling-area routes preferredAbility to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirementsThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals occupying this position of employment.
