Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.Job SummaryIndividual will support the MiWeigh Study, a pragmatic randomized controlled trial testing the effectiveness of the Weight Navigation Program by conducting chart reviews, recruiting and consenting research participants, and conducting other research tasks as needed. (0.50FTE)Individual will work under the guidance of a General Medicine professor to optimize a self-guided program available to Michigan Medicine patients on low carbohydrate eating. Will require collaboration with multiple stakeholders and service providers at U-M and development and management of the process. (0.25FTE)Term-limited to one year, 0.75FTE with possibility to increase to 1.0FTE if additional funds are secured.Responsibilities*Conduct chart reviews to identify potentially eligible patientsRecruit research participants by phone and emailConduct screening to determine eligibility Conduct informed consent Create orders and monitor In Basket messages in the EHRDevelop and manage optimization of the Low Car Journey programCultivate positive, productive working relationships with collaborators, service providers, and other Low Carb Journey key stakeholdersSupport new initiatives and pilot studies by obtaining regulatory approval (e.g., IRB submission) and conducting project management activities (e.g., recruitment, data collection, etc.) Develop relationships with clinicians, researchers, and operational partners to advance obesity care delivery Other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications*Bachelors degree in a health-related field, ideally healthcare administrationAt least 5 years' experience in clinical research including recruitment and other interaction with research participantsExperience conducting chart reviews in electronic health recordsExperience working with patients in a clinical settingExperience identifying key stakeholders and cultivating relationships with themDetail-orientedFlexibleSelf-motivated problem solverExcellent communication skillsAbility to monitor processes, trouble-shoot, and escalate as appropriateWhy Join Michigan Medicine?Michigan Medicine is one of the largest health care complexes in the world and has been the site of many groundbreaking medical and technological advancements since the opening of the U-M Medical School in 1850.
