Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and every-other-weekend availability.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that functions more like a telemetry unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Required to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday for day shift)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within telemetry service line to meet facility needs
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys verification required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Navy scrub color required
• No parking costs at this facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Travelers may stay for up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
