Position Overview

Feelings Forward Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our dynamic team. As an LPC with us, you will utilize your expertise in therapeutic interventions, particularly in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Somatic Based methods, to guide clients toward achieving their mental health goals.

You will be fully integrated into our clinical practices via telehealth, with opportunities for in-person engagement when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments to gather comprehensive information about clients’ histories, concerns, and aspirations.
  • Evaluate clients’ emotional and mental health status, formulating individualized treatment plans based on their unique needs and goals.
  • Facilitate therapeutic sessions that encourage clients to explore their thoughts and feelings through active listening and meaningful dialogue.
  • Implement emergency care procedures during crisis situations, providing critical support to clients in distress.
  • Engage in therapeutic exercises and role-playing scenarios to enhance clients’ coping strategies and promote personal growth.
  • Offer thoughtful guidance to clients on issues relevant to their lives, including coping with stress, trauma, relationships, and substance use.
  • Make referrals to additional services or specialists as necessary to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will have the chance to work with a diverse range of clients, including adults and youth, who present with various mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Your treatment approach will be tailored to the specific needs of each individual, ensuring that you are effectively addressing their personal challenges and fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • A current and unrestricted state license as a Professional Counselor (LPC).
  • A minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience is required.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles is crucial for effective practice.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling rapport development with a diverse clientele.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in family therapy, couples counseling, substance abuse therapy, or trauma-focused therapy is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and telehealth platforms is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
