RN Tutor

RN TutorRN tutors will work with students in both the ASN and PN programs. The intent is to assist students with both nursing course work and improve NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN pass rate outcomes. This is an on-campus tutoring position.Major Responsibilities:Provide individual and group tutoring for PN and ASN students and graduates awaiting NCLEX testing by walk-in or scheduled appointments. These appointments will be either in person or virtualCreate a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students' diverse cultures, language skills, ability and experienceProvide subject-specific content to help studentsClarify course contentUtilize listening and questioning strategies as the primary tutoring method to diagnose student needs and monitor progressRecognize the different learning styles and student preferencesSupport students in the development of appropriate research and study strategiesUse feedback and reflection to improve practiceRecognize primary role to help students become more confident, more successful and self-directed learnersMaintain and submit weekly reports of services providedReport to the Nursing Dean or designee information about student progressWork Hours:Must commit to working between 4-12 hours per week during our established campus hours, Monday through Friday 9AM-6PMMinimum Qualifications:Associate degree in NursingMust commit to working between 4-12 hours per week during our established campus hours, Monday through Friday 9AM-6PMPreferred qualificationsRN LicensureMaintained a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higherPrior Tutoring or teaching experienceOther Requirements:Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal background check, and offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.
