Legal Assistant (Hybrid / Virtual) – Join a Mission-Driven Legal Team! Location: Central Phoenix Pay: $18.50/hour (firm) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Work Model: Initially 100% onsite for training; transitions to hybrid (1 day remote/week) once fully proficient. Meaningful Work: Your efforts ensure that hearings are fair, organized, and timely, helping resolve critical eligibility and licensing cases. Your Impact As a Legal Assistant, you are the engine that keeps the hearing process running smoothly. You won’t just be filing papers; you’ll be analyzing complex case files and making "command decisions" to ensure legal deadlines are met. Key Responsibilities Case Preparation: Review appeal requests and curate essential exhibit packets for multi-party hearings. Judicial Support: Assist Judges with legal research, interpret procedural requirements, and manage official case dispositions. Docket Management: Schedule hearings and manage "elevated" calls, providing top-tier customer service to parties involved. Digital Accuracy: Navigate multiple case management systems simultaneously to upload decisions and maintain confidential electronic records. Who You Are We are looking for a "critical thinker" who can spot an error from a mile away and isn’t intimidated by complex, sometimes conflicting information. Tech Savvy: You are a pro with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and Adobe Acrobat. You’re comfortable learning proprietary case management software. Detail‑Oriented: You take pride in high‑speed, high‑accuracy work. You understand that in the legal world, missing a deadline isn’t an option. Strong Communicator: You can explain complex procedures clearly to people from all walks of life, whether in writing or over the phone. Adaptable: You work well with minimal supervision and can pivot between different types of legal programs and priorities seamlessly. Requirements Strong proficiency in English (Reading, Writing, and Speaking). Experience in customer service or office administration. Schooling or experience in the legal field. Ability to handle sensitive, confidential data with total discretion. Availability to commute to the Phoenix office four days per month.
